Jean-Paul Gaultier is
a French artist that specific in fashion design. He was born in 24 April in
1952 in Arcueli, Val-de-Marne, France. He never had been learning in a formal
school he was from young drawing sketches of fashion designs of his way.When
he was a child he used to develop his ideas from his grandmother in her closet
wardrobe. Only when he was at an age of 13 he began making some designs for her
mother and grandmother also. He used to always look for fashion magazine to see
what was the trend and to take ideas. When he used to see all the top
designers he used to send some of his sketches and one day he send the sketches
to Pierre Cardin and Jean Patou and saw some talent so they helped
him. These where the most two fashion designers, that recognized his
talent , so they helped him to success the way he succeeded now a day. He
began to work as an assistant for Cardin and then he also moved to Jean Patou.
When he was around he was a lot influenced by the work of Yves Saint Laurent. After
he returned to Cardin and there he began as a designer.
Gaultier is the designer that
opened the fashion on skirts on a man in the 1980`s and then he also design the
cone bra that Madonna worn in the 1990`s. Then In the 1976 he made his first
exhibition of fashion design with his own runway that was made in Paris.
After that he opened a business for his own. He changed the fashion so he
was used to be called the bad boy of the fashion. He changed the styles
to punk and street style . He invented the leather jacket with a sneakers
and a skirt. He is also popular for the sailor sweater and jaunty
trench-coat, This was made with his first collection and he had help
from his parents. The dresses where very funky , playful
and extraoisrdinary, but he had a lot of complains.
After in the 1997 he had the money so he can open his own collection of dress.
After that he opened a business
for his own. He changed the fashion so he was used to be called the bad
boy of the fashion. He changed the styles to punk and street style . He
invented the leather jacket with a sneakers and a skirt.
He was called the` Enfant terrible` that means bad boy. in the world of fashion. Jean Paul Gaultier now a days he is a big businessman how loves to create different and inovitev clothing. He became popular tough his creativity and his character because he never gave up to his dreams. His work isn`t popular only for clothing but also for jewelry.
Now a day he
include also perfume , one of them has the cone bra-shape bottle .He made his
first perfume in the 1993 for woman. He exploded a lot in his designs
so now he design menswear, ready to wear, and more.. He also began to design
furniture and wine bottles.
In the
2003 he became a chief designer at Hermes. His work also began to be used in
the films "Dangerous Liaisons," "City of Lost
Children," and "The Fifth Element.".
In the
exhibition that he had of the Spring / Summer collection in the 2005 one of the
most inspiration that he had was the Africa Bold Colours and animal
print.
